Set 113 of the EMU Tokyo Metro 2000 series travels on the Marunouchi line I recently visited Myogadani on the subway Marunouchi line, as I had a business meeting there. After finishing my meeting, I enjoyed strolling on the line to know more about this urban subway route. I found two photogenic spots for rail-fans. One is a road bridge across the track between Myogadani and Korakuen stations. Subway trains are annoying for rail-photo lovers. The major problem is its dark environment on the railway track. This spot is located on the surface track where it begins to get light in the afternoon. Another spot is the eastern end of the Korakuen station platform. It's a straight elevated track at which a camera can image the overall 6-car train on the Marunouchi line. They are indeed precious spots. I also realized that the new model, EMU 2000 series, increased its numbers, and became the major fleet on the line. On the contrary, the old model, EMU 02 series, was replaced by the 2000 series, and decreased its numbers. As a result, I seldom saw the 02 series on the line. Currently, 21 sets of the 02 series are still operated on the line, but they are being replaced by the 2000 series one by one. According to Tokyo Metro, all the 02 series trains, except the 02-80 series, will be replaced by the 2000 series trains by the fiscal year 2022. It was a small pocket of time during work, but I fully enjoyed strolling on the Marunouchi line.
